Arrest warrant issued for man, 26, in Paris Street double homicide

Investigation into Aug. 29 killings have led to the arrest of three people so far

An arrest warrant has been issued and an arrest made in the investigation into a double homicide that happened at a residence on Paris Street on Aug. 29.

Today, Greater Sudbury Police said an arrest warrant has been issued for a 26-year-old southern Ontario man in relation to the murders that occurred at the end of last month. Police also said a third arrest has been made in the case when Toronto Police Service took a 23-year-old man into custody on Sept. 6.

The arrests stem back to a double homicide that occurred Aug. 29 at 1960 Paris St., an apartment complex.

Police were dispatched to that address at around 10:23 p.m. that evening after receiving a 9-1-1 call about gunshots heard inside the building. When police arrived, a man and woman were found deceased on one of the floors of the apartment building.

The 41-year-old female victim was from Sudbury, police said. GSPS said the male victim was a 29-year-old from Southern Ontario, whose name will not be released per his family’s request.

On Aug. 31, detectives arrested and charged 32-year-old Stephanie Labelle with being an accessory after the fact to murder in relation to the ongoing investigation.

An arrest was also made on the night of the murders. Charged with two counts of first-degree murder is Keaton Pren, 44, who was remanded into custody following an Aug. 30 court appearance.

In a Sept. 2 news release, GSPS released images of three men (see above) they believe are also involved in the killings.

In a news release issued Sept. 22, GSPS said one of the three previously unidentified men has now been identified and an arrest warrant issued for him. That wanted person is Romaine Sam, 26, a resident of Southern Ontario (a specific community was not provided).

GSPS also released information about the arrest of another suspect in the case on Sept. 6. That person has been identified as Tinique Moore, also a resident of Southern Ontario, who is facing a charge of being an accessory after the fact.

Moore was remanded into custody after being transported to Sudbury for a Sept. 7 court date, at which she was remanded into custody.

The investigation continues as police attempt to identify two other suspects in the case.

Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact police immediately at 705-675-9171 extension 2320 or Crime Stoppers at 705-222-8477.

These murders mark the fourth and fifth murders in Greater Sudbury in 2025.

On April 6, a man was found dead from a gunshot wound in a pickup truck parked on Lansdowne Street. The suspect was later arrested.

One person was arrested but two suspects remain at large in relation to a June 13 murder on Clemow Avenue. That incident saw two people shot, with one, a 40-year-old woman, dying from her injury.

A man is also facing first-degree murder and several other charges for an incident at a residence on Lorne Street on July 2. Characterized as an intimate partner violence incident, it left a 63-year-old woman dead and 32-year-old woman with serious injuries. The suspect was later arrested by police with self-inflicted injuries.
