The Sudbury Wolves looked to get back in the win column on Saturday night in another road game against the Owen Sound Attack.
The Wolves tried to make a comeback after falling behind 3-0 early, but came up short in a 4-3 loss, dropping to a record of four wins, nine regulation losses, and one overtime loss on the season.
Finn Marshall was the starting goaltender on the road for the Sudbury Wolves, while Trenten Bennett took his place between the pipes for the Owen Sound Attack.
Landon Jackman found the back of the net for his second goal of the season, with the assists going to Lenny Greenberg and Ethan Kindree, giving the Attack a 1-0 lead just under three minutes into the first period.
At the 8:36 mark of the opening period, Tristen Delisle scored his 10th goal of the season, with the assists going to Pierce Mbuyi and Harry Nansi, putting the Attack by a score of 2-0.
Masen Wray scored his fifth goal of the season just over the halfway mark of the first, assisted by Wesley Royston and Elliot Arnett, giving Owen Sound a 3-0 lead after the first period of play.
At the 5:34 mark of the second period while on the power play, with Jake Crawford serving a two minute minor for Hooking, Wolves Captain Nathan Villeneuve scored his fourth goal of the season, assisted by Luca Blonda and Jan Chovan, putting the Wolves on the scoreboard and making the score 3-1.
Winnipeg Jets prospect Kieron Walton scored his 10th goal of the season with 49 seconds remaining in the middle frame, and the assist going to Luca Blonda, bringing the Sudbury Wolves closer, now down 3-2, heading into the final period of play.
With exactly nine minutes remaining in the game, Elliot Arnett for Owen Sound scored his first goal of the season, with the assists awarded to Jake Crawford and Wesley Royston, restoring Owen Sound’s lead to 4-2.
With Arnett serving a two minute minor penalty for Hooking, Kieron Walton scored his second goal of the game, this one on the power play, making the score 4-3 for the Owen Sound Attack.
The Sudbury Wolves are heading to Barrie to take on rivals the Barrie Colts, on Thursday, Nov. 6, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m.
