Two arrested, three at large following Paris Street double homicide

Greater Sudbury Police have made two arrests in relation to a double homicide at an apartment building at 1960 Paris St. on Aug. 29, but three other suspects remain at large

Greater Sudbury Police are seeking the public’s health in tracking three men police say are linked to the Aug. 29 double homicide at 1960 Paris St.

Police were dispatched to that address at around 10:23 p.m. that evening after receiving a 911 call about gunshots heard inside the building. When police arrived, a man and woman were found deceased on one of the floors of the apartment building.

The 41-year-old female victim was from Sudbury, police said. GSPS said the male victim was a 29-year-old from Southern Ontario, whose name will not be released per his family’s request.

On Aug. 31, detectives arrested and charged 32-year-old Stephanie Labelle with being an accessory after the fact to murder in relation to the ongoing investigation.

An arrest was also made on the night of the murders. The name of that accused has now been released by police. Charged with two counts of first-degree murder is Keaton Pren, 44, who attended Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Aug. 30 and has been remanded into custody.

In a Sept. 2 news release, GSPS released images of three men (see above) they believe are also involved in the killings.

Anyone with information related to the identities of the three men or their whereabouts is asked to contact police immediately at 705-675-9171 extension 2320.

These murders mark the fourth and fifth murders in Greater Sudbury in 2025.

On April 6, a man was found dead from a gunshot wound in a pickup truck parked on Lansdowne Street. The suspect was later arrested.

One person was arrested but two suspects remain at large in relation to a June 13 murder on Clemow Avenue. That incident saw two people shot, with one, a 40-year-old woman, dying from her injury.

A man is also facing first-degree murder and several other charges for an incident at a residence on Lorne Street on July 2. Characterized as an intimate partner violence incident, it left a 63-year-old woman dead and 32-year-old woman with serious injuries. The suspect was later arrested by police with self-inflicted injuries.
