It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mara Turajlic, who died peacefully with her loving family by her side on November 2, 2025, at Shalom Manor in Grimsby.
Beloved wife of Nikola Turajlic for over 70 years, Mara and Nikola built a life rooted in love, resilience, and deep devotion to family. Together, they worked tirelessly to give their children every opportunity for a better life and their legacy lives on in all they achieved.
Mara will be deeply missed by her children Dragica Fozard, Mirko Turajlic, and Donny Turajlic (Vivian) and by her cherished grandsons Michael Fozard (Amanda), Nicholas Fozard, and Adam Turajlic.
She was predeceased by her parents Gligo and Ana (Adamovic), and her brother Mirko Turajlic. Relatives in Serbia and around the world will always remember her for her warmth, generosity, and enduring spirit.
Mara found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was happiest in the kitchen, preparing feasts that brought family and friends together. Her cooking was an expression of love, a way she cared for everyone around her. She also delighted in trips to the casino, where her sharp wit, laughter, and a little bit of luck made her sparkle even brighter.
Mom, you are our sunshine, our laughter, and our strength. Your family was your world, and your love shines through in the people we have become. Your absence leaves a void in our hearts, but your love will remain with us forever.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Shalom Manor for their care and compassion over the past year.
