Teen motorcycle rider seriously injured in Sept. 19 crash

Sixteen-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries after her motorcycle collided with a pickup truck

A 16-year-old motorcycle rider suffered serious, life-threatening injuries in a crash on Municipal Road 84 in Capreol on Sept. 19.

Police were dispatched to the scene at around 9 p.m. that evening for a reports a motorcycle had collided with a pickup truck.

“The driver of the motorcycle, a 16-year-old youth, was taken to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries,” Greater Sudbury Police said in a news release. “She remains in hospital  in critical, but stable condition.”

Police said the preliminary investigation suggests the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Municipal Road 84 when it collided with the northbound truck**, which was in the process of making a left-hand turn onto a property. 

Our Integrated Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the collision and the investigation is ongoing. 

Anyone who was driving in the area at the time of the collision who has relevant dash camera footage or  who has information related to the collision is asked to contact police at 705-675-9171 or Crime  Stoppers at 705-222-8477.
