The Sudbury Wolves played their first pre-season game on Aug. 31 against the Soo Greyhounds and it was the first chance for fans to see newly signed goaltender, Owen Leonard, the club’s fourth round selection in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection.
Heading to GFL Memorial Gardens for the matchup against their Northern Ontario Rivals, Sault Ste. Marie put Willam Camputaro between the pipes.
And for the first twenty minutes of play, the two netminders kept the game at a 0-0 deadlock.
The first period also saw six penalties, three for each team, including a five-minute-major penalty and a game misconduct for fighting for Wolves’ defenceman Finn Kearns, and the same five-minute-major penalty and game misconduct for Hounds’ forward Charlie Hilton.
But in the end, the Hounds took the game with a score of 3-1.
Also in the release is news that season memberships and single game tickets for the 2025/26 Wolves season are now available.
