Two people are dead after a shooting inside the apartment buildings at 1960 Paris Street. The two buildings, referred to as A and B, are Sudbury Housing properties.
Greater Sudbury Police are reporting that on August 29 at 10:23 p.m. officers responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting that gunshots were heard from inside the building at 1960 Paris Street. “Upon arrival, Patrol Officers located a deceased male and female on one of the floors of the building,” said the GSPS release.
One person was arrested in relation to the double homicide and further police investigation revealed that the remaining suspects had fled the scene prior to police arrival.
“Based on preliminary information, this is believed to be a targeted incident involving individuals known to each other. There is no threat to public safety,” said police.
The investigation is ongoing and has been assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division. “Officers are actively working to identify and locate the suspects,” said the release.
