Hip hip hooray! Porketta Bingo is back to play!
Sudbury’s favourite game is starting back up at the Trevi, beginning on September 13. And Sudbury Performance Group President Mark Manniso couldn’t be happier.

“Sudbury Performance Group (SPG) started Porketta Bingo back before the pandemic, probably in 2017,” explained Mannisto. “It’s SPG’s signature fundraising event for the year, and we are so pleased to be able to partner with different community groups each week, to help them meet their fundraising goals as well.”
Mannisto reported that Porketta Bingo and related initiatives raised over $100,000 for local community groups, last year.

SPG is looking for community groups to partner with, weekly, for this year’s Porketta Bingo at the Trevi, which runs every Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m., from September 13 until the end of May.
“Community groups just have to supply some volunteers for the afternoon, and help sell tickets to their supporters,” explained Mannisto. “It’s a really fun atmosphere, and it’s nice for, say, the local hockey league to meet and socialize somewhere other than the rink, and have a great time raising funds and playing Porketta Bingo!”

Mannisto was quick to point out Porketta Bingo winners have a choice of prizes each week. “We also have wings from the Trevi, and delicious cheese from Nickel City Cheese,” he explained.
“So, definitely, come out and play to win, even if you don’t like Porketta!”

The atmosphere at the Trevi is what helps keep Porketta Bingo players coming back each week, according to Mannisto.
“We have a great relationship with the team at the Trevi, they are so fantastic, to let us come and basically take over every week!” he exclaimed. “I volunteer each week, but I feel like I am playing and socializing, it’s just such a nice atmosphere, with the regulars coming out, and everyone having so much fun.”

He paused, then added, “Really, we have formed a bit of a Porketta family, and it’s just become a really enjoyable part of the week, for lots of people.”
Porketta Bingo is coming back to the Trevi, September 13 from 1 to 3 p.m., weekly until the end of May.
