BRADFORD WEST GWILLIMBURY — A vehicle stolen from Sudbury was located in Bradford West Gwillimbury last week after the owner tracked it using a pair of Apple AirPods.

On Sept. 10, shortly after 1 p.m., police received a report of the stolen vehicle — a grey 2018 Mercedes-Benz MS6 — in the area of County Road 88. The AirPods were in the vehicle, allowing the owner to track its location in real time and update police.

Officers found the vehicle parked near Line 9 in Bradford. A male appeared to be asleep in the driver’s seat, South Simcoe police said in a news release. Officers learned he was wanted on a warrant issued in New Brunswick.

The 18-year-old Moncton, N.B., man was charged with motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen goods over $5,000 and failure to comply with a judicial release order. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
