Spark Employment Services and the Canadian Mental Health Association – Sudbury/Manitoulin invite the public to partake in leadership sessions on Nov. 25.
The event offers a daytime session for those who work in leadership roles and an evening session for parents and educators who work with young people.
“This is an opportunity that should not be missed,” said Chantal Makela, CEO of Spark Employment Services, in a news release. “The tools and approaches offered in this session are highly relevant to anyone working with people. They're practical, easy to implement and resonate across all industries. As leaders, it's our responsibility to create safe, welcoming cultures where people want to come to work.”
A paid morning and afternoon session under the theme “Getting to Better: How to Lead Through Disruption” kicks off the event.
“This inspiring and educational session introduces leaders to the CORE Essentials, a proven framework for building resilience, elevating communication and fostering stronger connections during times of disruption,” the release states.
“Developing strong Northern leaders is vital to the future of our communities,” said Cristina Timony, director of finance and corporate services at CMHA – Sudbury/Manitoulin, in the release.
“This session provides a set of critical strategies to help leaders navigate today’s complex challenges through the proven CORE essentials. We’re very fortunate to have Stephen de Groot facilitating — he’s an energetic, dynamic, and engaging leader with a remarkable track record of helping people reach their full potential.”

The evening session, “Getting to Better: How to Connect, Direct and Protect Youth Through Scary Times,” is free to attend and designed for parents and educators.
“Attendees will connect with their goals for the youth in their care, understand the impact of disruption, and uncertainty and learn fresh perspectives to strengthen growth, resilience, and overall functioning,” the release states.
