The Salvation Army in Sudbury kicks off its 2025 Christmas Kettle Campaign on Nov. 14.

The charity has a fundraising target of $250,000 this year.

“We have seen a significant increase in people accessing our services this year,” said Lt. Kaitlin Russell, Corps and Community Ministries Officer in Sudbury, in a news release. “Families are struggling to make ends meet in light of increasing costs.”

Proceeds from the Christmas Kettle Campaign are used to support “struggling individuals and families needing support to put food on their tables and sending their children to camp in the summer,” the news release states.

“Reaching our Kettle Campaign goal, with the support of our Army of Givers, allows us to provide Christmas dinner hampers to a whopping 1,300+ households, to keep our food bank running, offer  practical support, and meet the emerging needs of the most vulnerable in our community head-on,”  Russell said in the release.

All kettles are equipped with TipTap devices, allowing for gifts using credit and debit cards. Those wishing to give online can visit SalvationArmy.ca/Sudbury to give locally.
