The Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre in Capreol invites the community to its Canada Day celebration.
The museum’s daytime programming will take place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be free admission to the museum.
The day will include family fun activities, live entertainment with Twenty-One Band, scavenger hunt, a games and crafting area, giveaways and prizes, cake and cupcakes, a barbecue and a beverage garden.
Low-noise fireworks will take place at the riverfront (Lakeshore Street) at dusk by Dream Catchers Fireworks.
“Canada Day in the Town of Capreol brings community and culture together in an exciting way to learn about Northern Ontario’s railroad, mining and lumber history,” said Joanne Bowers, Chief Administrative Officer, NORMHC.
“Visitors can explore Prescott Park and its unique collection of rolling stock, climb aboard a fire engine, see a spectacular model railroad layout and try a locomotive simulator.”
“We would like to acknowledge the support of Celebrate Canada along with our sponsors
Capreol Lions Club, Capreol Community Action Network, Capreol Events, Northern Credit Union, Fire House Bar & Grill, Cardino’s Pizzeria, Dream Catchers Fireworks, Querney’s Office Plus and GOVA.”
Free transit will be available to and from the event, provided by GOVA. Simply board GOVA and inform the driver you are travelling for the “Canada Day” event in Capreol, and you can ride for free.
