Though the summer has passed, some country music fans are still quite animated about the Sudbury Summer Concert Series — specifically, frustrated fans of Jade Eagleson.
Eagleson is a Juno-nominated Canadian country singer and songwriter from Bailieboro, Ont. He has released three albums: “Jade Eagleson”, “Honkytonk Revival”, and “Do It Anyway”.
Fans are frustrated because they were to receive a refund for the performer’s Sept. 19 concert, which was cancelled at the last minute, within two weeks, but several of the ticket-buyers are telling Sudbury.com that despite contacting series organizers and Cabin Media, the Sudbury-based event and promotion company that hosted the event at Grace Hartman Amphitheatre, it’s been crickets.
In trying to get answers, Sudbury.com fared no better for the past couple of weeks. Then at 11 a.m. on Nov. 3 we received a one-sentence email from the Sudbury Summer Concert Series general email address informing us, “Everyone has been refunded.”
Eagleson’s year began with a fourth JUNO nomination and he was recently named 2025 Male Artist of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards; he won their 2024 Album of the Year, and in 2023, Entertainer of the Year and Male Artist of the Year.
That’s why so many Sudburians were clamouring to get a ticket when they went on sale June 6 for the Sept. 19 show. Then, heartbreak as it was cancelled just two days before, on Sept. 17.
An announcement was made through Sudbury's Pure Country radio station’s socials, quoting a message they stated they received from “the Sudbury Summer Concert Series Crew:”
"Due to circumstances beyond our control, the concert on September 19, 2025 with Jade Eagleson in Sudbury has been canceled,” reads the post. “All ticket holders will be refunded within the next 14 business days."
Sudbury.com began receiving emails Oct. 15 from frustrated fans saying they didn’t receive their promised refund. In total, we’ve received five emails from customers who have not received any refund for their tickets, some of whom spent more than $200 on the show.
A look at any of the social media posts from the Sudbury Summer Concert Series or Cabin Media will reveal angry customers who are waiting for a refund, such as those here and here. There is also a thread of others here.
Sudbury.com attempted to contact Jeff Sebben, the owner of Cabin Media, according to his LinkedIn. Sudbury.com covered his foray into mobile foods this summer, where he spoke of the trucks being “stocked up with supplies and convoy together down the highway to “events crisscrossing all over Northern Ontario.”
We attempted to contact Sebben twice, and three times called the only number we could find for Cabin Media (which has a voicemail message but not identifying information). We also emailed info@cabinmedia and sent a message through their website. We have sent two emails to the Sudbury Summer Concert Series and received no reply.
We received no reply from any of these attempts until Nov. 3.
We also called Jade Eagleson’s management and have not received any response.
After receiving the email from Cabin Media on Nov. 3 advising refunds have been paid out, Sudbury.com contacted the five ticket-holders who contacted us. The two we were able to reach prior to publication at noon on Nov. 3 said they had yet to receive a refund.
Sudbury.com will continue to follow this story. If you have not received your refund from this show, please contact [email protected].
