Police are searching for a couple of thieves after a man was robbed Sunday while sitting in his parked car outside of Tim Hortons on Cedar St.

A 53-year-old Sudbury man stands accused of selling tobacco without a license after an RCMP investigation turned up contraband cigarettes in his car. With a search warrant in hand, police searched the man's car, seizing 700 cartons of cigarettes.

A Sudbury man convicted of engaging in a bizarre sexual act against a 10-year-old boy he was babysitting was spared a jail sentence Tuesday, but will have to spend the next 27 months under strict community supervision.

A man who escaped from police custody earlier this week was bound in handcuffs, leg irons and a locked steel waist-belt when he returned to court Thursday.

Dennis Paul Haines, the man who escaped police custody at the courthouse Monday, is back behind bars today after being found and arrested at a Davidson St. residence Tuesday at 4:30 pm.
