With profound sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Melvin Ojala on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Health Sciences North, as he was surrounded by love.
Predeceased by his loving parents, Martti & Martha Ojala; predeceased by his cherished sister, Marlyn Webster (Kenneth) & predeceased by nieces Lynn Grishko (Michael); Nancy Webster
He will be deeply missed by his loving niece, Penny Webster & great-nephews Trevor Brown; Tyler Brown (Tabitha Walli & Rockland Brown); nephew Ken Webster (Laura) & great-nephew Derrick Webster (Emily Bylow).
He will be forever missed by his lifelong friend & buddy, George Zedek. His memory will live on forever, and he will be so dearly missed by his extended family at Maple Care Home and all who cared for Melvin throughout Sudbury Developmental Services.
Melvin touched so many lives with kindness, and the love he carried in his heart was untouchable.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the incredible HSN doctors & nurses on the 6th floor, South Tower and 5th floor, Cardiac Care Unit, North Tower, who treated Melvin with so much kindness, care and compassion.
Rest high above, “Melly”. Jesus loves you.
Funeral Service in the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Thursday, November 13th, 2025, at 11:30am. Friends may call after 10am Thursday November 13th , 2025. Cremation with interment in the family plot at Leeper Cemetery Nolalu, ON.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Sudbury Developmental Services, “Maple Care Home” would be appreciated.
