Nicky started working as a Newswatch reporter in December 2024 after graduating with a Bachelor of Journalism and a minor in Environmental and Climate Humanities from Carleton University.

Previously, she worked as a casual reporter and editor for CBC Thunder Bay. Aligning with her passion for covering global environmental and humanitarian issues, she has worked to develop in-depth multimedia content to share the diverse experiences of those in Northwestern Ontario, especially those often left with little voice in the media. She also has practical knowledge covering stories from other various topics, including science, business, policy, entertainment and culture.
