Check out Niagara Falls sludge rockers Ivy Gardens when they hit the stage at the Townehouse Tavern on Oct. 10.

The group is on a cross-Canada tour for their new album, “Death of Don Valley”, which was released by Paper Cut Recordings on Aug. 29. Ivy Gardens will share the stage in Sudbury with The 555 and This Love Is Drone.

"Death of Don Valley is the record we had inside us, but couldn’t quite articulate for several years,” the band said in a news release. “Musically, it’s a huge leap in a more experimental direction. It’s about death, decay, and the ultimate destruction of the world around you.”

Ivy Gardens tips their hat to progressive icons like Rush, Yes, and King Crimson to sludge pioneers like EYEHATEGOD and Iron Monkey for their sound.

They released their first full-length album, “Goon”, in 2024. The new album, “Death of Don Valley” presents a “concept album steeped in decay, lyrically and sonically portraying the slow death of natural spaces like Toronto’s Don River, drowned by industry and time.”

The band said their sound blends stoner metal, sludge, math rock and progressive rock.

Details on the show can be found here.
