With the home opener set for Sept. 19 against the North Bay Battalion, the Sudbury Wolves announced this week the signing of three players who will, in the words of GM Rob Papineau, bring some much needed “poise and maturity” to the squad.

The trio consists of forward Daniel Berehowsky and defencemen Jayden Connors and Hudson Martin.

“Daniel Berehowsky joined the club as a free agent invite, playing four games in the preseason,” the team said in a news release. “Son of assistant coach Drake Berehowsky, he notched a power-play marker in his first preseason game against the Soo Greyhounds, and finished his preseason with an assist against  the Kingston Frontenacs this past Sunday.”

Jayden Connors comes to the club as a fourth-round selection of the club in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection.

“The Scarborough, Ontario native appeared in one game with the Wolves during the 2024/25  season,” the team said. “He returned to this season’s camp and appeared in four preseason games, including a  two-assist outing against the Kingston Frontenacs.”

For his part, defenceman Hudson Martin was selected in the 13th round of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection by the Sudbury Wolves.

“He won the NOJHL with the Greater Sudbury Cubs in his 2023/24 season, and spent his 2024/25 season with the Collingwood Blues of the OJHL,” the team said.

“All three players have come to camp in great shape and have all been a steady positive influence on and off the ice,” Papineau, the team’s vice-president and general manager, said in the release. “They all bring a level of poise and maturity to our team. We would like to  welcome Daniel, Jayden, and Hudson to the team.”

The Sudbury Wolves season kicks off tomorrow against North Bay. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.

Make sure to show up early though for the home opener celebration, Howlapalooza Street Party, which takes over Grey Street from 4-6:30 p.m.

Those in attendance at Howlapalooza have a chance to get one of 500 exclusive home opener t-shirts to those  who can provide proof of having a ticket for the game. The party will feature live music, face painting, bouncy castles, street hockey, free ice cream, a beer garden at the Townehouse Tavern, and Wolves player appearances and autographs.

Tickets can be purchased online here or at the Sudbury Arena box office.
