In loving memory of Dee McDowell (nee Tees) who passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at West Nipissing General Hospital in Sturgeon Falls at the age of 98.
Dee was the beloved wife of Arthur “Art” McDowell (predeceased) and mother of Stewart (Lorna), Evelyn Eisenhour (Stan predeceased), and Glenn (Hilkka). She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Landon (Kayla), Brooke, Miranda (Luke), and James; and her great grandchildren Clade and Payton.
She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Elizabeth Tees, and her brothers and sisters, Russell (Doris), Agnes Caddel (Bill), Joe (Margaret), Eleanor McDowell (Frank), and Victor.
Dee was a warm loving person who was devoted to God. She loved knitting and gardening and visiting with family and friends. In her mid 40’s, Dee returned to school, earning her credentials as a Registered Nursing Assistant.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. John Mulloy, whose care and compassion meant so much to Dee; and to the PSWs, Sheila, Laurenza, and Sarah, whose visits were a bright spot in her day! The family also wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at West Nipissing General Hospital, whose kindness and professionalism brought comfort and dignity during her final days.
The funeral service will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11:30am in the R.J. Barnard Chapel (Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury). Friends may call after 10:30am on Friday. Interment in the Massey Cemetery.
