Long-time Pioneer Manor manager named city long-term care director

The City of Greater Sudbury promoted from within to find their new long-term care director.

Carrying more than a decade of leadership experience at Pioneer Manor, a municipal long-term care facility, Nicole Leclair was appointed to her new role effective Oct. 23.

“Ms. Leclair brings a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for improving the lives of residents,” city community well-being general manager Tyler Campbell said in a media release. 

“Her collaborative leadership style and dedication to excellence make her an exceptional fit for this role. We are confident she will continue to elevate the quality of care at Pioneer Manor.”

At Pioneer Manor, she has served as resident care manager and co-ordinator, and most recently, acting director.

“Her hands-on understanding of both the operational and human aspects of long-term care, combined with her Executive Master of Health Administration, has earned her recognition as a forward-thinking and compassionate leader across the organization and the broader community,” according to the city’s media release.

Leclair will oversee the city’s Long-Term Care Services department, which includes the 433-resident Pioneer Manor. The city’s media release notes that she “will lead ongoing efforts to enhance care delivery, support staff development and guide the facility’s major redevelopment project aimed at modernizing infrastructure and improving resident outcomes.”

“I’m honoured to take on this role and continue working alongside a dedicated team of professionals,” Leclair said in the media release. “Together, we will build on our successes and ensure Pioneer Manor remains a place of comfort, dignity and exceptional care for all residents.”
