Singer-songwriter Jadea Kelly has a new album coming out this fall, but next month she’s hitting the road for a tour across Ontario and Quebec.

Sharing a bill with her longtime co-writer and collaborator, UK musician Ryan O’Reilly, the duo will be in Sudbury on Aug. 13 to hit the stage at Lounge 390, located at 390 Elgin St. downtown.

The tour supports her fifth studio album, “Weather Girl”, set to be released Oct. 11.

You may have seen Kelly before, as she’s performed several times in the Nickel City, including an appearance at Northern Lights Festival Boréal back in 2012.

There’s a story behind the title of her new album.

The title, “Weather Girl” “represents Jadea’s personal ability to withstand and weather all of life's changes. It is a nickname coined by Jadea’s tour mate and collaborator, Ryan O'Reilly, who used it to describe her “debilitating barometric pressure headaches.”

Changing weather patterns can trigger nausea-inducing ocular migraines in Kelly.

“Weather Girl also jokingly represents her superhero alter ego with 'the worst superpower ever', i.e. predicting storms via migraines and nausea,” a release about the show states.

Kelly spends her time writing and living between rural Ontario Canada and Los Angeles.
