Visit the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre for some pre-Halloween fun on the weekend of Oct. 3-5.
Check out the Ghost Train, an interactive theatrical/escape room style experience for visitors. The story will follow you and your team of paranormal investigators (Hunters) as you investigate reports of a ghost train that has been surfacing on online forums, and it looks like some paranormal investigators may have gotten in over their heads.
“With Sean and Dan Winkchester called away to another job, and a train far more haunted than what was expected, do you and your team have what it takes to figure out what you’re up against, rescue the paranormal investigators, and make your name as hunters of all things that go bump in the night?” the press release states.
Dress up in your best denim and flannel combo, lace up those boots, and get to hunting. There will even be the opportunity to have your picture taken with a 1967 Chevy Oct. 4-5.
Purchase tickets to the escape room online here.
The weekend also includes a Family Scare Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 4, with numerous activities including a Scavenger Hunt, free Pumpkin Patch, Potion Making, Costume Exchange and Costume Contest, as well as Paw Patrol Mascots and a Craft Vendors Market.
There will be a barbecue, pizza and treats by Cardino’s, a candy booth and free popcorn with Councillor Natalie Labbée. Northern Exotics will also be returning with their friends both cute and creepy!
A performance by 2 Northern Troubadrous, a.k.a. Will Gillespie and Brian Tremblay, takes place at the railroad museum at 1 p.m. Oct. 5. The two songwriters, who both write music about Northern Ontario, have put together a “concert of new songs in old styles.”
