In loving memory of Barbara “Barb” Ann Fortin (née Lamontagne), 89 years who passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Pioneer Manor. Beloved wife of René G. Fortin predeceased. Loving mother of Claude Fortin predeceased (Patricia), Thérèse Perron (Yoland predeceased) and Pauline Fortin (Mark McKillop). Cherished grandmother of Patrick, David, André, Stephan, François, Mathieu and Micha and many great-grandchildren.
Barbara or Barb, as we called her, lived an active life as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Although Barb’s beginnings were at times difficult, she found René, a man she truly adored every day of his life, and they created a wonderful family and life together. Barb worked at Town and Country for many years, sharing with others her impeccable taste in clothing and style – she was always so put together, no matter where she was off to. Barb also became a bus driver, a job she loved being able to deliver children safely to school and home for many years.
Barb instilled in her children the importance of healthy living and nutrition. A woman way
ahead of her time. Barb still followed the news and had her own opinions of current events
that she enjoyed sharing with others.
We will miss her sense of style, humour and her grace. Rest now Barb and enjoy the peace you have so earned!
