This year’s property tax bills reflect the results of city council’s 2025 budget re-adoption meetings held late last year, which finalized a 4.8-per-cent tax levy jump.

Factoring in the city’s final 2025 tax plan, this translated into an overall 4.4-per-cent residential levy increase (which varies depending on location, as explained in a story available by clicking here).

Property owners who have not received their bill by May 30 should call 311 or email [email protected], the city noted in a media release.

Payment installment due dates are June 9 and July 9, and can be made in various ways, including:

  • Telephone or via internet banking
  • At most banks, trust companies, credit unions and Caisse Populaires
  • Through your mortgage, arranged through your mortgage company
  • Enrolling in a pre-authorized payment plan where payments are automatically withdrawn
  • From your bank account either monthly or on the instalment due date
  • In-person at Tom Davies Square or at a Citizen Service Centre

Residents who have signed up for online billing will receive their bill through the Customer Service Portal. Those property owners who signed up for the option can login to their accounts at 311.greatersudbury.ca to access their bill.

Property owners interested in where their taxes go can plug their address into the city’s property tax calculator by clicking here.

A residential with an assessed value of $154,000, for example, will pay $2,576.95 in municipal property taxes, plus $235.62 in education taxes.
