Died peacefully with family by his side in Bracebridge, Ontario on Nov 7, 2025.
Armand was born in Sudbury on Aug 4,1946 to mother Lucienne (Bazinet) and father Donat Ethier.
Beloved husband of Muriel Ethier (Bourque), pre-deceased. Loving father of pre-deceased infant children Joseph and Marie.
Dear sister of Marguerite Laforest (Harry), Roland Ethier (Jacqueline), Claudette Brisebois and Suzanne Carriere (Gerry).
Predeceased by her siblings Noella Laforest (Albert), Herve Ethier (Lorraine), Conrad Ethier (Monique), Jeannine Mallette (Leonard), Rachelle Roy (Jean Paul) and Gerald Ethier.
Armand had a lifelong career in the automotive industry who was well respected as a dedicated honest person.
Armand and Muriel had a very active social life camping, playing music, with family members and friends for many years at the Sportsman’s Lodge in Daoust Lake ON.
Armand had a special affiliation with music.
Being raised with a family that enjoyed playing instruments and singing was something that captured his interest in music. Having received his first guitar at a very young age, he never put it down until his passing.
Special occasions around the Ethier’s and extended families always included singing, music, with Armand leading the way.
During his playing career, Armand decided to form a band called “Harmony,” accompanied by nephews Harvey Mallette and Mitch Roy.
They were a sought-out band in the Sudbury area playing for Weddings, Stag & Doe is for twenty plus years.
After Muriel’s passing, Armand made a move to Bracebridge where he lived with Suzanne and Gerry enjoying family get-togethers with his nephews and nieces, especially at Christmas, with the guitars and singing.
Later, Armand moved to Castle Peak Retirement Home, involved with many committees with staff / friend Pillar De Rubio. Always ready to help with anything that needed to be done or fixed.
He started playing his guitar and singing for the residents.
The Bracebridge music community soon heard about Armand, one by one, musicians and singers wanted to join him.
This led to a band, which they named, “Armand and Friends,” Friends Randy Bennett, Jim Hammond, Mary-Lou Matchett, Paula McIsaac, Randy Dimock, Bob Moramdin, Spencer Cameron, and Warren Tompkins.
Residents, family members, town locals looked forward to Wednesdays at Castle Peak where he performed with his band that became his family.
The family wants to thank Castle Peak Retirement Home for many years of a caring and comfortable environment for Armand.
Visitation will take place at the Cooperative Funeral Home, Chelmsford, ON, 4691 Regional Rd 15, Saturday, November 29th, 2025 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Followed by a service at 11:30 am, St Alexander Church,100 Gaudette, St. Chelmsford, ON.
May his kindness continue to inspire us and the music he loved so much play in our memories forever.
