A West Nipissing resident is facing an impaired driving charge after police found him asleep in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle parked on Cache Bay Road.
On Sept. 1 at around 7:50 a.m., Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to check on a vehicle parked on Cache Bay Road in Sturgeon Falls with a man asleep in the driver’s seat.
“Police located the vehicle parked, still running and the driver sleeping in the driver's seat,” OPP said in a news release. “The driver was found to be impaired by drugs and was arrested, then transported to the OPP detachment.”
As a result of the investigation, the 38-year-old male driver from West Nipissing is charged with operation while impaired - drugs, and operation while impaired - blood drug concentration.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 6 in North Bay.
