Frank De Simone, aged 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.

Frank was the beloved husband of Maria (De Luca) for 62 years. Throughout those years, they built a life together surrounded by family and friends.

Son to Rosina (Tiano) and Eugenio De Simone predeceased. Brother to Rosaria Astri (Giovanni) predeceased. Brother-in-law to Paul De Luca (Anna), Gino De Luca (Rita) predeceased, and Tony De Luca (Grace). Brother to his extended family from Greece, Franco (Eleni), Athanasiou predeceased (Jane), Euaggelia (Georgios), Rossana, and Katerina predeceased (Dimitrios),

Frank will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Maria; his children Sandro (Julie), Rosemary (Michael DiBrina), and Claudio (Lisa); his grandchildren Megan (Fabian Elliott), Mathieu (Lorrie Blais), Adam (Scarlett Ross), David, Amy (Anthony Cimino), and Ashley; and his great-grandchildren Zara and Avery, who filled his heart with pride.

Frank will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews knowing some loved him like a father and that love was reciprocated.

Frank was a devoted family man — selfless, generous, and always ready to help anyone in need without hesitation. A true Renaissance man, he found joy in the outdoors, fishing, gardening, music, travel, and photography. Deeply proud of his Italian heritage, he cherished his roots in Aprigliano, Italy, where his story began before he came to Canada to build a better life and marry the love of his life, Maria.

Family was at the heart of everything Frank did. He was endlessly proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, instilling in each of them his values of love, kindness, and the importance of togetherness. His warmth and smile could light up any room, and his genuine nature made everyone he met feel welcome and appreciated.

Frank was a hairdresser for many years and had several successful salons throughout the municipality of Sudbury. His talents were endless.

Frank had a lifelong passion for driving, often making the long journey from Sudbury to Toronto to visit loved ones. He brought people together through countless barbecues, celebrations, and family gatherings — creating memories that will be cherished for generations.

Later in life, Frank was overjoyed to discover and reconnect with his extended family in Greece, embracing this new chapter with the same open heart and curiosity that defined him. The bond he formed with them brought him immense happiness and a sense of completion — another beautiful testament to his belief that family, in all its forms, is life’s greatest gift.

His legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion — a life well lived, and a man deeply loved.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate medical team at Health Sciences North — including Dr. Eaton, Dr. Primeau, Nurse Emma, Nurse Catherine, the entire staff of the Emergency Department and 7th Floor North Tower — as well as his family doctor, Dr. Richardson and Bayshore Home HealthCare Services, for their exceptional care and kindness.
