Celebrate the return of the summer season at Onaping Falls Summerfest on June 21.

The eighth annual event will be held at the Dowling Leisure Centre from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Organized by the Onaping Falls Recreation Committee, this “one-day celebration promises fun for all ages with a full lineup of kid friendly attractions, local vendors, and community activities.”

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a host of children’s activities will be offered, including an inflatable obstacle course, a climbing wall, face painting, glitter tattoos, animal rides and more.

“Summer Fest is one of our favourite ways to bring families and neighbours together,” said Carrie Morin, chair of the Onaping Falls Recreation Committee. “We’re proud to offer something for everyone and look forward to seeing our community come out and enjoy the day.”

Entry to the event is $2. Children under two are free. Access to the children’s attractions will cost you a $5 bracelet fee.

Summerfest will also feature a vendor marketplace, which will operate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees can also enjoy a charity BBQ, a penny table, and a car show.

“To support accessibility and inclusion, a Quiet Hour will take place from 10 am to 11 am, providing a calm and welcoming environment for children with special needs to enjoy the festivities at their own pace,” organizers said in a news release.
