A Life Remembered

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lizette Carlson who left us on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 at the Maison McCulloch Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a cherished member of the community, remembered for her genuine smile, distinct laugh, and her unwavering strength. It was important for Lizette, even in her last days, that her bravery and courage throughout her battle with cancer be an inspiration to others. She approached cancer with the same fierce determination that she did in her career as a forester, paving her way as a strong leader in an industry typically dominated by men.

She leaves behind her husband and best friend Gary and his three daughters Stacey Lafontaine, Corrie Arsenault and Kelly Carlson, her sister-in-law Christine Edward, close friend and support system, Janet McQuarrie and last but not least, their beloved dog Sir Winston.

Lizette was born to Léo and Berthe Trottier (both predeceased). She was the dear sister to Jacques (Claudette), Donald (Gisèle), Léo-Paul (Agathe), André, Jean-Guy (Wendy), Muriel (Philip) (both predeceased), and Gilbert (predeceased) (Connie). Missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Resting at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. Friends, family, and all who knew her are welcome to attend, share memories, and pay their respects on Saturday, November 8th, 2025 from 2-6pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maison McCulloch Hospice or the Northern Cancer Foundation.

Lizette will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her and remembered for her passion for life, her boundless love and her pure heart.
