Audition call now open for CTV Lions Children’s Christmas Telethon

Auditions to be held in Sudbury on October 18 and 19

A very special event in Sudbury is happening soon, and organizers are looking for talented people in the community to help make it even more special.

The CTV Lions Children’s Christmas Telethon is a long-standing community tradition now in its 77th year. The purpose of the event is to bring people together in the spirit of giving, and to raise funds in support of children and families in need across our region during the holiday season,” explained an event spokesperson.

The telethon features live performances, special guest appearances, and community segments, all broadcast to encourage viewers to donate and support this important cause. Auditions for local performers are happening on October 18 and 19, and CTV is on the hunt for talented local performers to audition.

“This is your opportunity to perform in front of a wide audience, showcase your skills, and be part of an event that truly makes a difference. Everyone is welcome to audition—whether you sing, dance, play an instrument, or bring another unique talent to the stage,” urged the spokesperson.

Those selected from the auditions will be featured during the live telethon. This provides an incredible platform for community talent to shine while also contributing to the success of the fundraiser.

“When you audition for the Telethon, you’re not just performing—you’re helping brighten the holidays for children and families across our region,” added the spokesperson.

Auditions for the 77th CTV Lions Children’s Christmas Telethon are happening October 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and October 19 from noon to 4 p.m. at CTV Northern Ontario Studios, 699 Frood Rd., Sudbury.

Of special note, this is an open call audition (first come, first served). Singing acts chosen to perform on the live show will be required to attend a vocal rehearsal, a band rehearsal (November 22 or 23) and a dress rehearsal (December 4 or 5) prior to the Telethon broadcast. Self-contained and non-singing acts will be required to attend a dress rehearsal. The live telethon is happening December 6 at 27 Larch Street Sudbury at Place des Art. this is the right place.

“What people should know is that the telethon is more than just a show—it’s a community effort that directly impacts children and families. Whether by auditioning to perform, tuning in to watch, or making a donation, everyone has a chance to be part of this meaningful holiday tradition,” said the spokesperson.
